FAQ:

How much will it cost?
Swim team is $105 for the first swimmer and then $60 for each additional swimmer. Swimmers are also requrired to be members of the pool for the month of June, which is $25 per swimmer.

What is the team uniform?
The team swimsuits are black, red and white. You will have the opportunity to purchase a swimsuit at time of registration or you may purchase one of your own. Goggles are required and may be purchased on your own as well. Swim caps are recommended for all meets. A team T-shirt is included in your registration fee if signed up before May 15th. We recommend swimmers practice in a swimsuit other than the swim team swimsuit so that it will last longer.

How many practices and meets will there be?
There will be 4 meets (2 home, 2 away) either on Monday or Thursday evenings beginning in the middle of June. There will also be a Meet of Champs between all league swimmers (invited by coach) held at the end of June.  (not all swimmers will participate). Swim practices will start in late April after school, Tuesday-Friday. In May, it will be after school, Monday-Friday. In June, practice will start in the mornings. It is crucial that your child attends practice so that we can consistently be working on their strokes and preparation for meets. If, however, something comes up an you must miss practice, please let a coach know.

What time do meets start?
Meets start at 6:00 pm. Normally, we ask swimmers to arrive no later than 5:15 pm for warm-up. The exact time will be determined by the coach. Since we are in a smaller division, meets last about 2 hours.

Who will we swim against?
We are part of the Memorial Spring Branch Swim Conference which included thirteen teams divided into 3 divisions. The Swordfish are part of the blue division. For more information, visit http://www.msbsc.org

What should I bring to meet?
Wear  your swim team swimsuit, goggles, swim cap, and team T-shirt. You will also want to bring water, a snack, and a towel. Parents will need to bring a chair and cash for concession stands. The swim team traditionally goes out to dinner after Thursday meets and all are invited.

How can I help?
The swim team is organized and run by volunteers, therefore, it is crucial that all parents sign-up to volunteer. There are lots of opportunities to help out, so make sure to attend the parent meetings for more details. How can I sponsor? The Swordfish Swim Team is a 501(c)(3) program, which means that donations and sponsorships to the swim team are tax deductable. There are many different levels of sponsorships.
